The Scale tool () in SketchUp for iPad helps you resize geometry in your model while maintaining its proportions. Need that vase you made to be 50% smaller? Or how about when you find out a room in your floor plan needs to be 10 feet wide, but the rest of the floor plan must stay the same. In both cases, the Scale tool is your best bet.
When you activate the Scale tool, a yellow box with green grips appears around your selection. You can then use those grips to change the scale.
In SketchUp for iPad, the Scale tool has the following optional tool modes:
- About Center () - When activated, the Scale tool uses the center point of the selected geometry as an inference.
- Scale Uniform () - Activating this helps make sure all of your geometry scales proportionately. This helps avoid warping your model when scaling.
